I can fix Windows NTFS problems with Linux amongst other issues -- while Windows isn't even booted -- but, can't do that in reverse with Windows fixing Linux. sou yo are wasting valuable disk space!  Also hard drives have I/O speeds much slower than RAM, so unless you have an SSD you wont see that much of a difference.
