Apparently it means BIT.dll corrupted, so perhaps that is what Scannow is now finding? Problem Details (the first one, not subsequent ones) I was setting up a couple of notebooks with new hard drives and fresh installs of Windows XP Professional as that's what their Will then have Win 10 backup and Win 7 backup soswitch from one to the other as wished. I manually found and installed IE 11. Windows 7 Update Checking For Updates Forever Clearing out the update download folder and retrying the update does not help whatsoever. Did not resolve issue. 0x80070005 – Fix for Windows - Several suggestions, none of which resolved the issue.
Version was Home 64 bit.

If the DVD was W7 SP1 it seems to work.So I'll share what I did.1. Did not load any other software and used Windows Update set to recommended automatic updates. Stop the auto-update service by typing: net stop wuauserv I ran this from the windows\system32 directory, but you can run it from anywhere. Like a good computer professional, before turning it back over to the client, you are going to apply all the service packs, patches, and updates that Microsoft might want the system

Whereas if I never hear from anyone, then why bother? Final update was reached which was update of the update system. Server 2003 has the same issue! Found it!
