Matt Freedman says: February 19th, 2008 at 9:02 PM | Cordell: I'd recommend phoning up HP. Beginning to think only a pro could do this.Down where the sound speaker icon was, now shows a speaker with red X and says "No Audio Output Device is installed". Thanks! -d Report vjay- Oct 14, 2009 at 03:27 PM Hi Mark Wondered if you can help, I have a HP Paviliondv6000. Well, they worked!

I have the exact problem they are describing that tons of people have, on the same product, but because my little number doesn't match I shouldn't be able to get any http://realink.org/solved-xp/solved-xp-in-32-or-64-bit.html Scroll about half way down to "[Operating Systems]" and after "WV64UL=OEM" insert:W764HB=OEMW764HP=OEMW764PR=OEMW764UL=OEM( For 32 bit systems use W732HB=OEM, etc.)I next went up about 10 lines to "[System information]" and addedSysId3=0x3091SysName3=HP Pavilion I uninstalled the device and deleted the driver, reinstalled it with an older driver, no difference. they replaced everything but the lcd like said above by someone. I can run dual boot anyway I have retail copies and that's the only computer I haven't built myself hence it being a laptop. Now, install and run VistaBootPro and open the Bootloader tab. get redirected here They actually reformatted and then figured out the drivers issues,, which is the opposite of the order in which I would have proceeded.

Hope this helps someone out there. You can check these out here, or go to conextant and see if theres a newer version. Also, they don't always reformat after servicing your computer.

C.- May 6, 2010 at 11:22 AM I'll never, ever buy an hp again.

They seem a lot friendlier on there. no luck. I explained to him my nightmare & told him how poorly I had been treated from their service centers and how much this had impacted my business. Btw, in order to reboot I had to remove battery and power cord as the pwr button alone did nothing.

The grounding plate that creates the short is INTENTIONALLY there. I hear a "beep" but that is the only sound I can get.... So, I tried reinstalling the Device Driver, but that didn't fix it. useful reference I am working with a Windows XP PC.

I've searched high and low for this driver with no luck. I had to go to HP's website and download a bunch of different drivers for XP. i hope they fix my lcd. Hopefully all I'll need to do is a BIOS upgrade - I'm pretty sure my BIOS is version 1 so I'm way behind on that front.

I bought a HP Pavilion dv6000 on 15.3.2007 with the Intel Centrino Duo. I reinstalled the audio drivers and the BIOS driver and was still without sound. I nid ur help. I told HP that this customer wanted a replacement laptop for her time, troubles, isses, expenses, and downtime, to which the rep's reply was "Good luck with that. Matt Freedman says: April 6th, 2008 at 8:01 PM | "RPB": You're welcome, I'm glad I could help. That model no have in the BIOS, in the System configuration menu, the possibility to disable the SATA mode, so I had to make a new installation cd, via slip-streaming procedure

Report Realmsman- Jan 9, 2010 at 03:45 PM Did the same as you by hooking up an external and tapping fn+f4 and voila, the screen works on it's own on start up.Thanks. I assume it's not just a bios upgrade (I wish/hope it would be that easy) but they (customer) want these computers back in 24 hours.
