Not about to flip over to ogg, though I have nothing against it. I can't get a Win XP guest to work as consistently with respect to syncing an ipod. (in my case an 80 gb 5.5g) However, Virtual Box 1.5.4 just came out, So as not to make further trouble for myself (by damaging the iPod file system), I eject it from the Ubuntu host. - Miraculously, it remains known to VMWare. - I I hope this was helpful! pop over to these guys
Just got mine to unfreeze, saves me waiting a week for the battery to run down by itself. I'm running Gutsy/2.6.22-14, with no luck, albeit using vmware server 1.0.5. wont need anything to do with apple apart from the ipod itself then.
The swf is 145x145 which is small but when it opens in the the window the swf resizes to full screen and i need to find a script to stop this. Can you take the Magic Initiate feat more than once? I don't know anything about Vista or the newest iPods. Now when i click music (next to where my ipod is in itunes 7) it says i have to delete all the songs to have them replaced. Whenever I try to sync it with my iTunes library, the iPod stops half way through with an error message stating that it is unable to sync as "The required dic phillywizeNovember 20th, 2007, 07:08 PMI have been trying for months to get my iPod to sync through iTunes in a virtual guest XP install.

I can sync music still and i can still listen to music but i cant see anything because the screen is all white. thanks in advance!!! I don't know if that is relevant, just thought I should explain everything.

So I keep all my song files on a dedicated external hard drive, a hard drive that isn't always turned on. I can then map the ipod as a network drive in windows, but itunes does not recognize it as an attached ipod. when it's finished doing it's thing. my review here Just installed vmware server (some issues there with little workarounds mentioned in release notes - eg.

I mounted the ipod in ubuntu as normal, then remounted it with --rbind under my home directory (which is setup as a samba share so I can access it in vmware). I have used exactly the same steps as you and can only get as far as having XP detect a removable storage device. Ok, not a step, but a confirmation of sorts.
